Movember in Ireland

"It's so green," she said.
"Here and now," Ser Jorah agreed. "You ought to see it when it blooms, all dark red flowers from horizon to horizon, like a sea of blood. Come the dry season, and the world turns the color of old bronze. And this is only hranna, child. There are a hundred kinds of grass out there, grasses as yellow as lemon and as dark as indigo, blue grasses and orange grasses and grasses like rainbows. Down in the Shadow Lands beyond Asshai, they say there are oceans of ghost grass, taller than a man on horseback with stalks as pale as milkglass. It murders all other grass and glows in the dark with the spirits of the damned. The Dothraki claim that someday ghost grass will cover the entire world, and then all life will end."

They say that the grass is greener on the other side. It might not be, but you’ll never know if you don’t cross the roads! Some people fear that life is too short and I fear it’ll be too long. A life that is too short doesn’t necessarily have to be a life that ended quickly. It’s just about doing the unexpected or just do something so you won’t get stuck, because once you get stuck life will be very long. Some people are happy where they are and some people just aren’t. I was one of those people who were never truly satisfied with being in Denmark. It had nothing to do with the town I grew up in or the part of Denmark I am from, trust me I would never not live in Jutland if I go back to Denmark. And if I go back my accent simple won’t fit in anywhere else than in the north of Jutland.
The thought of going somewhere has always been in the back of my mind. Coming from a family that has always taken me on holidays in different countries it is not weird that I want to explore and extend my stay at a new place for a longer period of time.

Today the sun has been out and it has been a lovely day. After a weekend with too much coffee and computer games I decided it would be good for me to actually go outside. So I decided that I would go down to Lough Owel (it’s a lake). I have never been there before, but google told me that it was only 3,5 km away from The Cottage. I got dressed and began my way to the lake. It was the first time I have actually been out exploring the nature and I was absolutely stunned with the sights that met me. The way the sun fell on the trees and the grass was breath-taking and I realised at that moment that the grass is greener on the other side. Though this is literally and therefore it doesn’t mean that it’s a better place to live. But to me a pretty landscape seems like a good start for a pretty adventure. There are few words to describe what I saw today other than, “This is Ireland”. I finally discovered Ireland although I am certain that what I have seen is just a tiny bit of what there is to see and if this is just a tiny bit then I will most definitely want to see the rest. I want to see the castles and the ruins, the sheep and the cows, the lakes and the roads, the coasts and the cliffs. I want to see Ireland and I will make it my goal while I am here. In one way or another I will see Ireland!

This is the road just outside my door.
